Wedgefield NHW is strictly watch and report. No pursuit, No patrol, No confrontation, JUST WATCH and REPORT. During the month of JUNE to the present date of JULY 10, 2024 we continue to have no property crimes on Orange County Sheriff’s website because it is still not reporting crime statistics. Based on reports of CALLS FOR SERVICE as reported by the SPOTCRIME email we have had a number of incidents. 1 report of vandalism on Quarterly and 1 report of an assault on GLEN ELM WAY. We also had one report of a theft on ABNEY and 2 reports of suspicious activity one each on YAM and ABNEY Lastly, we had a shooting and stabbing on Racine. This incident was reported to OCSO but I have no additional information. Again, if I do not get the calls after the incidents are reported to OCSO we will have no information of where in Wedgefield or what transpired which would help in precluding a repeat of a like incident. Please take the time to make the second call. Since we no longer have a Wedgefield Newsletter it is imperative that this information gets to every resident in our address book. Additionally, everyone who has the ability to join our Neighborhood Watch Facebook page does so. The ability to relay information here in Wedgefield will be severely restricted with the loss of the printed newsletter. Contrary to popular belief there are several residents that are not on the computer or Facebook. AGAIN SPECIAL THANKS to Denise Grage our NHW Coordinator for keeping our NHW Facebook page neighborly.
